Anna Cummer

Anna Cummer was born in Singapore on January 2nd, 1977. She had the good fortune of spending half of her adolescence in Southeast Asia and the other half in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. After finishing high school at the French International School in Hong Kong, Anna seized the opportunity to study drama in England. She completed two theatrical degrees there: an undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway (University of London) and a Master’s degree in Advanced Theatre Practice at The Central School of Speech and Drama. Since returning to Canada in January 2000, Anna has established herself within the artistic community of Vancouver appearing on stage, working in film and television, and as a voice-over artist. The summer of 2012, Anna and her family will be moving to Calgary, Alberta.

I recall laughing a LOT (!) during the Voice Over recording and editing, as I was hearing Anna cycling through the myriad of voices she was coming up with. Yup, all the voices were done by Anna and the music piece in there (after the record player is bumped) is also hers. Check it out!

“From the perspective of a programmer, Yanni was the perfect combination of perfectionist, creative, flexible and reliable. You could always count on him doing everything he could to have his vision and the designers come into fruition. My main experience with Yanni was working on the rhythm based game step aerobics and Active. The game mode’s main feature was to match animations with the tempo of a song. Yanni had to deal with interesting challenges that lead to features. To name a few he delivered tempo shift while maintaining sounds quality, smooth song transition to avoid animation jerks, instrument focus (bass drum) when the user is messing up in the song. On one occasion we needed a range of footsteps sounds for step aerobics. Instead of mixing some canned footsteps from another game that did not fit, Yanni got myself and the designer of Step Aerobics all in a studio to record what we thought should be the most authentic sound.” Neilson Mackay, Assistant Lead Engineer
